The Ficus Lyrata, Fiddle Leaf Fig, is a native of West Africa. It’s large “veined” green leaves are shaped much like a violin or “fiddle” and can grow up to 12 inches long and 5 inches wide. The large, attractive appearance of this plant makes it one of the most popular indoor plants for homes, offices, hotels, and restaurants. Known as a slow to moderate grower, the Ficus Lyrata will reach a mature height of about 6 feet when kept indoors. Because of its slower vertical growth, this is a plant that can be potted up and kept indoors for many years with proper care. The Lyrata should be kept in an area with a lot of bright light throughout the day but not too much direct sunlight. Water a little bit once or twice a week and make sure you have a well-draining container. Our team waters each plant before they are shipped and wrapped so they may not need to be water right away. Overwatering is one of the most common causes of the decline in indoor plants. We are unable to ship this plant to California due to restrictions by the California Department of Agriculture. Please be aware that if your pet is a plant chewer this plant is considered toxic to animals. There are no other authorized sellers of American Plant Exchange plants.
